If you are a Canadian guide dog handler facing large, extraordinary veterinary bills due to an illness or injury with your guide dog, you may apply to the GDUC Wellness Fund for some financial assistance. GDUC may not fund the entirety of your request, and will give consideration to other sources of funding which you have sought. Please contact your guide dog training school first to determine their ability to assist you in this regard.

Please refer to the Wellness Fund homepage for more information on the types of funding requests which we will honour.

If you wish to apply with a paper form (rather than online), you may download a Wellness Fund application (MS Word document).

Submitting Your Application

When you have completed the application form (including the report from the treating veterinarian), please collect the application form and any relevant supporting documentation (such as bills or invoices), and mail them to the below address.

Incomplete applications (such as an application which does not include an invoice or payment receipt) cannot be processed. To ensure that a decision is rendered in a timely and efficient manner, please double-check to ensure that all of the necessary paperwork is included with your application.
