GDUC Texas Hold'em tournamentFriday, June 24, 2011 - Fredericton New Brunswick! GDUC’s first New Brunswick fund raising event to help more Canadian guide dog handlers participate in the 2011 conference and AGM. On Friday, June 24, GDUC will be hosting a texas hold’em tournament in Fredericton. The tournament begins with registrations at 5:30 with play to begin at 7:00. GDUC Introduces Care Officer ProgramNovember, 2007 - Guide Dog Users of Canada is putting into place a national network of Care Officers who will offer a sympathetic ear to any guide dog handler wishing to talk about issues such as retirement, illness, death, and any other emotional topics we face as handlers. 2008 Annual General Meeting to be held in Winnipeg October 17-19, 2008Guide Dog Users of Canada plans to hold the 2008 Annual General Meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the weekend of October 17 to 19, 2008. GDUC Endorses Recommendations for Building An Inclusive and Accessible Federal Transportation SystemJune, 2007 - Guide Dog Users of Canada, in conjunction with other national consumer organizations, has signed and endorsed the recommendations outlined below regarding the accessibility of transportation systems in Canada, as drafted by the Council of Canadians with Disabilities. GDUC receives commemorative award for work with CTA advisory committeeGuide Dog Users of Canada has received an award from the Canadian Transportation Agency in recognition of our work with the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
